Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fourth graders are a a great group of learners. They are very eager and want to do well. I see what they are capable of, and my hope is to encourage their growth academically and as human beings.
My students are expected to reach high academic standards in our state, and sometimes their home lives make it hard for them to focus on their learning.
School affords them a safe and consistent environment. They are living in a 21st century world, and they will need a strong foundation in math and science to be successful in our ever advancing world.
My Project
My students love to play sports at recess and having a classroom set will help to encourage and motivate them to work hard in the classroom so they can play hard at recess. I’d love to see them moving and getting exercise rather than being sedentary during outside time. Movement will help them to think more clearly and give them the energy needed to finish the rest of their school day. This will be good for my students who need a little extra motivation to work. They will be able to work towards playing sports when they complete their assignments. Students will also be cooperating with others, while practicing teamwork and good sportsmanship, which are necessary life skills. Recess is their social time and sports are a great way for them to make new friends and I want to give these opportunities to my students.
