My students need 4 basketballs, 7 weighted basketballs, training shields, dribble glasses, 3 basketball bags and other supplies to improve their basketball skills.
My students are awesome and motivated learners. They enter my Health, Fitness, and Nutrition classroom every day with smiles on their faces. They come from very diverse backgrounds, which makes our learning environment very special. They are polite and kind to each other.
We are a rural school in South Carolina with a high poverty rate.
My students are very energetic and do not let their circumstances hinder their learning. They are excited about learning and are very willing to get the job done.
My Project
Over the course of the year, the basketball program has grown. The boys not only work hard during the season but will put in a lot of time in the off-season. Our athletic budget is very small so it is difficult to receive new equipment. It is important that we have enough basketballs for every player in the program. This allows practices to become more efficient and the boys are able to get more individualized workouts.
My players need 4 basketballs and 7 weighted basketballs so that each player has a ball when doing skill development drills.
This way no one is standing around and there is no downtime. The weighted basketballs will help develop strong passers and dribblers as they work out with the ball during passing and shooting drills. The two Blocker Pads will help with shooting drills to mimic a defender standing in front of them as they shoot. The equipment will be kept in the 3 basketball ball bags.
Donations to this project will support boys who are great student-athletes and will allow them more opportunities to better their skills as players. More equipment leads to more reps during practice and skill development.
