My Students
My students are our future innovators, mathematicians, scientists and engineers. They are a diverse group of students coming from many backgrounds. They are eager to learn and absorb large amounts of instruction at a very fast pace.
They are solving real-world problems with viable solutions.
They work from the time they enter the classroom until the bell rings. Often they are coming during other classes because they love seeing the connection between their learning to real-world application.
Coming from a rural community, they have a love for their community and their country.
My Project
My students need safe, sturdy and comfortable workstations, in order to help them work efficiently and effectively. Classrooms have become active learning environments. I have outdated materials, and my classroom is pieced together with leftover furniture from other classrooms. I want my students to feel special when they enter my classroom, like true engineers. This project would give each student a workstation that is spacious enough for them to explore information on their own computer and to design their own project at their desk. The workstations will be grouped so that they will make collaborative learning an everyday process. The workstations would allow me to meet the needs of my engineering students who are learning to solve real-world problems.
