Working Environment to Meet the Needs of All Learners
My students need their own personal clipboards and flexible seating options to have the opportunity to do their work "around the room" in a comfortable learning environment.
I work in Reno, Nevada at a title school. Many students in my classroom live in motels and are not provided with the resources and supplies needed to flourish in their academics at home. I teach students at a variety of levels including Special Education and English Language Learners.
My students are everything!
They are curious, spunky, charming thoughtful and absolutely love learning. They come to school each day with a smile on their face, excited to absorb new information. In my classroom, students are given ample opportunities to collaborate with one another in whole group, small groups, and partner settings. It is important I provide my students with a variety of ways to meet their learning needs through engaging activities.
I absolutely love my job and my students and want to provide them with the best learning environment possible. I believe every student CAN succeed and I strive to create an environment where this is possible. I am super excited to be getting a new group of kiddos this year and can't wait to help them grow as young learners!
My Project
My students could really benefit from having their own personal clipboards in my classroom. Many primary aged students have a challenging time sitting at their desk and completing activities. These clipboards and beanbag chairs give my students the opportunity to have flexible seating options so they can focus in a comfortable learning environment and do their best work!
In order to promote a love of reading in my classroom, students are given a significant amount of time to choose books from my classroom library and "Read-Around-the-Room." My students love having the opportunity to find a cozy spot and dive into their book.
These bean bag chairs will give my students some comfy seating options and foster a love for independent reading or reading with a partner.
