Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

COVID-19 has had wide reaching consequences. Daily I interact with students who spent a school year in total learning at home. The effects of this are felt daily in my classroom.

My second graders are still learning how to be students.

While at home they could: mute themselves, eat and drink when they wanted, take bathroom breaks and tune out as they desired. In class this year, I have struggled with teaching them how to be students again.

Students are learning how to work together as a team. With the materials I am requesting students will be able to work and problem solve together, not independently. These are life long skills that will help them become successful.
