My students need supplies for the writing work station (dot painters, stamp pads, 4 ink pads, dry-erase markers, and alphabet stampers. Supplies are also needed for the math work station (cash register), for the multi-cultural station (people shapes), for the literacy work station (rhyming tubs), and for the social skills work station (Go Away Big Green Monster book/supplies).
I teach special education students in grades 1st and 2nd. We are a high-needs community with a 70%+ poverty rate.
The students I work with lack the resources and background experiences to be successful in school. These students need to have hands-on engaging materials to support their learning. Our budget is being cut dramatically and without donations, I would not be able to purchase these materials.
The resources I need for this project are supplies for the math - a working cash register, writing ink pads, stampers and people shapes, literacy books and rhyming kit, and social skills books for work stations. At these work stations students will practice what has been taught and gain important independent work skills as well as learn to work with others.
You will make it possible for my students to experience hands-on, motivating activities that will promote independence, cooperation, and improve academics.
