Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school has students from all over the world. There are over 100 different languages spoken at my school. This diversity of the students makes our school special. I have to pleasure of teaching of 90-100 8th grade students at an amazing middle school.

My students are mini mathematicians in the making.

English may not be the first language for some of my students. The use of numbers binds us together in a way that words cannot. 2 + 2 = 4 is true no matter where you are from.

My Project

Learning centers in a Math classroom allow students to take a more active role in their academics. Studies shows that centers provide several benefits such as: increase student motivation, fostering independence, improve time management, and challenge advanced students.

With the card stock paper and laminating machine, I will be able to create fun and education task cards for the students to explore.

I will be to use the task cards for all 4 classes without any damage to them because of the laminating machine. The reusable pockets will allow me to walk around the class and see the students work quickly. By inserting a class-set document int he pockets, I will be able to save on paper.
