My Students

When you enter my classroom, you'll find student and teacher involvement. My students are always engaged and excited to learn, and I am always excited and ready to teach. I do a lot of hands-on teaching as well as partner/small group work in my classroom. This allows them to communicate and learn from one another as well as experience the lessons first hand. I tend to stick to this method because it is more beneficial to student learning.

My first grade students come to school eager to learn something new each day.

They are a very motivated group of students who keep me on my toes throughout the day. I am always looking for ways to challenge them to their full potential! After all, students thrive to meet your expectations, so I try to keep them pretty high. They enjoy hands-on learning, technology, and different methods other than just paper and pencil. I incorporate this into my lessons each and every day. My school is a wonderful place for children to come, learn, and be loved. We support our faculty, students, and their families in all aspects of their lives.

My Project

The ten frames will allow my students to build numbers and see the resemblance between the number and the manipulative. It will also help with subitizing, which is quick number calling of a specific number due to a specific pattern.

The STEM set will allow my students to use critical thinking to solve problems.

It will also teach them how to persevere and not throw in the towel when it doesn’t work out the first time, that it is okay to fail, as long as you don’t give up.

All the skills these two activities will teach my students will help them to be successful students in their later years.
