This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low-income school located in an inner city. I am a special education teacher, and I work with students who exhibit learning disabilities. I have a total of thirty students who love to learn and are excited about small things.
My students are special to me because even though they may have a disability every accomplishment whether big or small is encouraged and celebrated for every student.
It teaches my students to support each other and encourage good choices made by my students.
My Project
Snacks will affect my students concentration. Often, students become hungry throughout the day, due to missing breakfast. For many of my students lunch time is not until after 12. Snacks can supply energy in the middle of the day. A healthy snack between meals can also decrease your hunger and keep you from overeating at meal time. Snacks affect my students mood. When students are hungry they tend to be distracted easily, and lose focus. A snack can cause students to focus on the teacher and their lesson. Snacks can be given to students as incentives or when they are needed.
