Help me give my students classroom snacks, field trip snacks, and breakfast items to make sure they are focused on their academic studies rather than their rumbling tummies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When I think about my fifth grade students, the first words that come to mind are thoughtful, energetic, worthy, eager to learn, and curious. Most of these characteristics come with the territory of being a kid, but others are due to their everyday culture. Every day we work, as educators, to give our students all the necessary tools to succeed both in their education and their character. We do this through engaging activities and exercises.
It is important for kids to have ownership of something that leads them to success, something they look forward to, and something that provides them with the ability to meet their goals.
In order for our students to experience real-world situations and be able to benefit from daily lessons, they require tools to learn.
With your help, I can take our kids from where they are and give them the necessary tools to plan goals and work to reach them. Throughout the school year, our students become more aware of real-life mathematical situations and how to use math every day.
Every one of my students’ lives was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. As a community, we are working together to rebuild, protect, and soothe our students.
My Project
Imagine this! A quiet classroom, students working the best they can, mathematics fills the air. Then all of a sudden, RRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, a stomach growls. The tension is broken, and now as a class, everyone is talking about hunger and how a snack would be oh so satisfying.
I see it every day, students come to school without having been fed breakfast and sometimes even previous night's dinner.
I would love to be able to have plenty of options for my students to make sure they have a snack to fulfill their hunger.
The snacks provided by this project will allow students from a low-income community to have afternoon snacks and also snacks for field trips off campus. The 5th grade students go to the community park twice a year for a picnic lunch and we would love to have some snack options for them to enjoy.
