Help me give my students a more fun hands-on approach to learning! They love to move and they play well together but we lack in variety of games/toys to promote reading skills, positive socialization and coping skills.
I have the best class! They are loving, well mannered and truly enjoy learning! They try their hardest even when the work is overwhelming or they become discouraged. These kids come from low income and are not always provided with adequate involvement or support from their home life. I want them to feel like kids when they are at school and have fun learning while forgetting the stresses of home life for a short while. “ It is a happy talent to know how to play.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
My Project
My students would be ecstatic to have more opportunities to learn through new games and play! We strongly promote a love of reading and these materials would help to provide fun seating options for independent reading time, as well as, an opportunity to help students who struggle to sit still and focus. Learning letter sounds has been a struggle and these materials would also help to engage all of my students but would especially help me target those few who are discouraged and disinterested in letter/sound practice! In learning their sounds , my students will build a strong foundation for reading! We work hard to make our work engaging and these materials would help us do so!
