My 6th-grade students are active and energetic. They have the desire to work hard and participate together as a whole class.
My students have an amazing desire to learn and grow.
Many different learning abilities within the classroom require a variety of learning options to ensure that all students' needs are attended to.
My students are simply amazing and I am so very blessed to teach each one of them. They are fun, silly, active, kind, curious, motivated, intelligent kids and are a privilege to teach
My project is to benefit and reward my 53 students. In my classroom, the class is organized into superhero groups. I have 7 groups, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Batman, Spiderman, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Superman. While the students are at these groups, each one is given a responsibility. The group must work together to complete their jobs daily. For example, the Spiderman group has the responsibility to make sure all the Chromebooks are put back in their charging dock correctly at the end of each class. The Flash table has the responsibility to make sure all the headphones are put back correctly and are wrapped up neatly and organized. The Captain Marvel group is in charge of the "bank".
Twice a year we have a classroom auction where they can spend their hard-earned money on some external motivators.
I have seen others do something similar to this, and they get amazing results from the students. Their level of engagement increases and it helps them to be a part of the classroom environment because they are all invested in our classroom as a whole and how things run. I try hard to find things that they are really interested in and want, such as games, headphones, stickers, and coloring books.
These jobs teach the students responsibility and organization and is a great external motivator for the class as a whole.
