Work Around the Room

Help me give my students, ottomans, soft rockers and cushions, for seating and flexibility that they need . They are going to be working in small groups in different areas of the room often. The mobility of these items would be very helpful.

My Students

These students all love to draw. They are always wanting to use their crayons and colored pencils. They are an active group, but are excited to learn. There are times when they need to be able to focus, or be flexible in where they are in the classroom.

They are all very unique and each like different things.

I'm just getting to know some of them, but they are a fun bunch. This is my first classroom so I'm excited to see what the year brings.

My Project

These materials will allow the students to work in different areas of the classroom. Our curriculum includes a lot of small group work. The clipboards would allow the students to work easily away from their desks. The cushions and ottomans would give students an additional place to work with their group.

We also would use these items for independent reading time.

They would have options to sit comfortably while they are reading.

I also have students who ask to come closer when copying something specfic from the board. The clipboards and ottoman would help them to be able to have a closer place to work.
