My Students

My 10th grade reading students are great students who are struggling to meet the state reading standard. Many of these kids are within 20 points of passing but they need a little extra help to reach their goal of passing the test and meeting the graduation requirement.

Most of these students have extenuating circumstances, such as having a specific learning disability, being an English speaker of another language, or having minimal resources at home.

These kids would really benefit from this resource and it would be rewarding for them to meet the graduation benchmark and focus on their future beyond high school!

My Project

My reading students have struggled to pass the state reading test for most for their entire educational career. There are many factors in my students' lives which prevent them from meeting this benchmark which I cannot change. However, there is one I can. Vocabulary Knowledge.

The Vocabulary Builder Workbook arranges high level vocabulary into genres and presents it to the students in context, which is proven to be the most effective way of learning new words and phrases.

A strong vocabulary foundation will help my students in many ways. It will strengthen their writing, FSA & SAT test scores, reading comprehension, and future success in any endeavor they choose to pursue after high school.

We would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide in getting these books to our classroom.
