My Students

The students at our unique pre-K through 8 school are as close a group of diverse students that one could hope to meet. At our neighborhood school, students from ages 4 - 15 come from a radius of a few miles and with a world of differences to learn and grow together each day. Students are toddlers and teenagers. Students are gifted in academics and athletics. Students are neuro-typical and differently-abled. Students soar and students struggle. Students come to school well-fed and some come to school needing a balanced meal. No matter their backgrounds, they come together each day to explore, dream, and create in a caring community of parents, educators, and community members who strive to help each one meet his or her potential.

My Project

If one picture is worth a thousand words? What is a video worth? In terms of student learning and engagement, it could be priceless.

Flocabulary is an online program that gives students and teachers access to hundred of standards-aligned videos, reading passages, and activities on curriculum-based topics.

The videos are designed with engagement and creativity in mind, bringing difficult topics and rigorous content to life for students.

According to the Flocabulary website, 96% of teachers report and increase in student engagement, and students score 25% higher on standardized assessments. In addition, teachers at our school believe in this resource so much that they personally fund the subscription for their classrooms.
