My Project

This virtual institute will provide me the supports in order to make grammar instruction as lively and transferable and inclusive as possible.

The institute will provide me the chance to actually practice and experience some of the best methods for student literacy engagement.

I’ll use some of the newest teaching tools, including the language and conventions menus, to help you give kids agency over their use of grammar. I’ll consider how grammar is linked to identity and to culture, and how to help children explore and amplify their language choices.

After this institute, I will be able to take my learning and experiences and coach my colleagues around best practices in engaging and culturally and linguistically responsive academic language strategies. In turn, they will be able to use these strategies in their K-5 classrooms and create readers and writers who can be successful with both narrative and expository texts.
