Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a rural, low-income community with limited opportunities. My students have numerous skills that will help them succeed, but they require opportunities to develop and strengthen their natural talents.
The students in my classroom are bright, active, and motivated.
They actively work to succeed in and out of the classroom. They get excited by learning new things and having new experiences. They all have the ability to be successful and excel at anything they put their minds to. My students constantly strive to grow and learn. Each day, my students make an effort to improve themselves and their community.
My Project
Hearing from artists, art historians, and critics help us understand art and it's meaning. My students need a subscription to Scholastic Art to provide them with access to images, reading, and inquiry questions to strengthen and deepen their understanding of art.
Students need to be able to read and speak about art.
Art by nature is subjective and each student's opinion is valid. They need resources to assist them in understanding other's opinions about art and improve their ability to form their own opinions. Scholastic Art provides numerous opportunities for students to use images, quotes from artists, and critiques to craft their own arguments.
