Our classroom is in the heart of Brooklyn, but when you walk into our room you'll notice that my students come from all walks of life. Our community services mainly students who's families have immigrated from other countries, and who are still adjusting to a new country and a new language, and a new culture. Over 90% of the school is on a free and reduced lunch plan, and our students are a mainly ESL students. Because of this, they have a lot of catching up to do, and my classroom needs materials to hep support their language learning and getting them on grade level in their subject areas. They are eager and excited to learn and with a little help, they will go far!
My Project
During the middle of the year, we always run low on supplies for our daily activities, and every little bit helps make our days easier.
Printing daily activities based on the needs of my students is essential to keeping them working on their individual goals, and I am lucky enough to have a printer in our classroom- but having enough ink to keep it running is aways a challenge!l Having these supplies will ensure that my students get daily differentiated learning that I can create on the spot- I love using the students works to make my own handouts- they feel like they are really helping to shape our curriculum.
Our writing lessons always involve a lot of illustrations, and having markers, crayons and tape help bring to life the great work they are writing. Who wants a story without illustrations?
