60% of the students in my class lost their home and belongings in Hurricane Harvey. In addition, they lost their classroom, too. We began school a month later than planned at a local church in town.
My students are brave and adaptable.
These are just a few words I could use to describe them. They have embraced this year and have made the best out of the traumatic time in their short little lives. I cannot say enough good things about this sweet little class.
My Project
After Hurricane Harvey, my students lost most of our word building games due to our classroom flooding. We need these type games and learning tools in our literacy centers.
My students will love these literacy tools for our centers.
The children will be able to use theses games I am asking for to reinforce key kindergarten skills we work on daily. Word building, learning through play, and manipulating with letters and recognizing their sounds are key skills that my students could understand with the help of these games. They also need to practice their higher level thinking skills through creating and building puzzles, which were also flooded in our old classroom.
