Help me give my students the daily practice they need with the letter tiles and magnetic boards. This hand-on manipulation of sounds and letters will help my students apply word reading strategies.
My 2nd grade students are full of wonder and eager to learn! Each day we get to come to school, they are excited to grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, historians and scientists.

With Covid-19 still affecting the classroom, my students need more practice with phonics activities. Knowledge of sounds and the letters that make those sounds are necessary skills so students have success in literacy which is a part of every subject.
My Project
With letter tiles, my students can easily practice listening to sounds in a word and then building that word sound by sound. As students practice this daily, they are growing as fluent readers and writers. The magazine file folders will be used to house the books that they are reading during our independent reading time. Students are constantly trading out books from our classroom library. Books on their just right reading level, books that interest them from a variety of topics and books that make them laugh out loud.

The writing collection of books will offer my students guidance as they grow as writers. The inspiration and techniques of real-life authors encourages my students to try new ideas in their own writing.
