My first grade classroom is filled with 24 inquisitive and eager students. We love coming to school to learn and grow together each day. Our class is wonderfully diverse, with students who come from various backgrounds and cultures, and speak languages other than English at home.
There is so much learning, exploring, and inquiring to be done, but sometimes we don't always have all the resources we need.
I work at a Title I school that focuses on empowering students through Balanced Literacy and technology. We believe in fostering a growth mindset at our school, where we understand that anything is possible with a little hard word and patience!
One goal as an educator is to create a safe haven for my students. I want my students to come to school each day wanting to be there and excited to learn! I appreciate your willingness to help our classroom friends have the supplies and resources they need in order to reach new heights this year!
School closures and remote learning has really impacted my little learners! They missed a crucial semester of Kindergarten and still need a lot of support with their reading foundations.
I will use these materials to purchase phonics units and hands on tools to get them to practice segmenting and blending words.
Theses hands on materials will be imperative to sound acquisition. I will use these in leveled reading groups, giving students targeted lessons on their specific needs. Students will be able to find letter tiles to construct words, blend them together to stretch out words, and slide into sound boxes.
