This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing, creative, unique individuals that understand hard work and determination can bring them unique opportunities and success.

Every student at our school leaves being able to perform on at least one musical instrument and receiving a well rounded, hands-on musical training.

Students at our school are given the opportunity to participate in Bands, Choir, Orchestras, and Guitar Ensembles outside of the school day. These groups have advanced and succeeded in competing at the District and State level, in which every ensemble received a Superior Rating for their performances (being the first in Chicago Public School history to do so).

My Project

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chicago Public Schools will be starting their school year online. It is my goal to get an instrument in every child’s hands at home. In order to do this they need the proper supplies. For woodwind instruments, that means reeds. Reeds are essential for a woodwind instrument to play. Also, each child will need multiple reeds throughout the year. This DonorsChoose is just the start to support these students have the proper materials they need in order to succeed. I know that the community will support my students and give them a chance at success.
