My students need a drum set for both concert and jazz band.

I am starting a band program at my school as a way to provide students with life skills such as teamwork, hard work, and dedication. My class teaches students not only how to become good musicians, but also how one idea or concept can turn in to one big final project, song, or performance.
My students are some of the most innately talented group of kids I have meet.
Some excel in not only music, but sports and academics. They come from disadvantaged socioeconomic household's area and although we fundraise for transportation fees, they are not able to cover all necessary fees to make the school-year successful. I try to expose my students to as many cultures and opportunities as possible. The best way I feel I can do this through teaching students the skills it takes to create a final project and to take that project and display it publicly.
In order for the band to become successful this year, they will need percussion equipment and a drumset. Students will be using the materials to practice perform in and around the city of Memphis. We try to support our football team by performing in the stands and during halftime at all home games. The band will also participate in city-wide parades, festivals, and community events. This not only teaches them how work as a team, but it promotes school and city-wide pride. There is no better feeling then when the crowd cheers them on during parades and when they audition and receive college scholarships. That is how they know their hard work paid off big time.
