Hands-on examples drive our rural hardworking students to engage in learning. We are a small town in Wisconsin and extremely proud of our exemplary record of meeting every student's individual needs. Yet, struggle with educational funding to allow us to afford new technology and classroom supplies. The District has an excellent staff, and in conjunction with valued parents and community partners, we provide excellent educational opportunities and outcomes for the youth we serve. We are a state and nation recognized leader in college and career readiness made possible through strong collaborative partnerships with leaders across our region in business, industry, service organizations, government, and post-secondary institutions helping each of our students find their career or college readiness.
High expectations, clear goals, and involvement are all hallmarks of the Mishicot tradition and culture, further developed with your donation.
You are helping these rural, hard working students have hands on opportunity to explore careers while still in high school and be better engaged for their future! We are committed to providing the highest quality educational environment in which our staff, our students, and the community work together for the success of every student every day.
My Project
Our wildlife classroom and school nature center commonly has students perform nature based artwork and identification projects. In this class we borrow wood burning tools from time to time but would like our own set to have in our classroom.
Teaching new skills like pyrography (writing with fire) will expose students to the varied ways that art encompasses their life.
Different careers and hobbies will be exposed in this inter-disiplinary project between our art, agriscience, and technical education departments.
We will teach students to add distinctive designs to their barewood, card, and leather projects. In agriscience we will also compare soft vs. hard woods in Wisconsin and locally sourced to burn upon. These tools will teach students design, patience, creativity, and problem solving in a time honored craft of wood burning.
