Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 30 inquisitive fourth graders who are always full of questions and are eager to learn! Students from all walks of life who come together to work together. They love hands on activities and projects. To watch them eagerly participating in group activities is very exciting for me and puts a smile on my face. At this age they are so ready to take charge and be independent young leaders. They are our future scientists and engineers in the making.
My Project
I want to engage students in order to teach them as much as we can. When students are engaged they want more. STEAM is one way to engage students in school and relate it to the real world. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics together. My project will set the students up for success in these areas. Science-Kidwill solar kits for students to work on science applied curriculum. Technology-Kindle Fire Tablets for researching and reading about related curriculum. Engineering-Coding equipment like the Edison robot to build programs for engineering. Arts and Math- applied in all areas of curriculum.
Hands-on activities are one of the best ways to engage students!
To be involved by doing and communicating with each other grows not only their academics but their social skills. They work together to answers questions, make meaningful discussions, skillful planning, creative building, and rethinking.
These items will help build the necessary skills that these students need to be successful in the future. Whether it be writing, reading, coding, designing, or just discussions, with materials I will help them achieve these goals.
