I teach in a rural farming community with many diverse needs throughout our small district. Technology is very important to our community because of limited resources. This is a large group of students in an afterschool program who are very motivated to learn the aspects of video film making.
Please help us provide the technology resources we need to be successful in creating stories through animation.
Students with this program learn how to write 3-dimensional scripts, storyboards, voice-overs, editing, animating, and storytelling. These 21st-century skills are vital for success in the current and upcoming job market.
More importantly, they are passionate about what they are doing and are very goal-driven.
My Project
Our 21st-century learners live in a media and technology-centered world. As learners, technology is part of everything we do and will do for the rest of our lives. As educators, we often have legitimate concerns with content in media but are still expected to find ways to optimize the technology we have on hand to make learning as current and relevant as possible for our kids.
Animated storytelling requires many technology components that work together to create in full, a story from their own personal voices and imagination.
