I have 25 sweet first-grade students. They are kindhearted and loving kids. They are also extremely hard working. They come to school each and every day ready to learn and with a smile on their face, as do I! Our school day can feel very long when you are only 6/7 years old, but these kids of mine soar through the day. They complete phonics, guided reading, math, writing, science, social studies, go to specials, lunch, recess, and STILL have energy to spare. They amaze me.
Unfortunately, our school is located within a high poverty district and many of my students do not have the resources that they need at their fingertips.
I do not want them to feel as though they deserve less than other districts may have. I want to ensure that they are set up for success.
My Project
I am looking for writing paper so my students can put their creative minds to work. I am hoping to be making less copies and have paper on hand for when they feel inspired. It is important for kids to have enough paper so that they can keep writing and write about many different things.
I want my students to feel recognized and accomplished.
What better way than marking up their paper with my comments and a sticker. Kids love stickers. I am hoping you consider this project so that my students can get started with their amazing work. Thanks!
