My Project

Students need a variety of tools and resources to develop essential writing skills. The donations to my project will help to achieve this by supporting my ability to develop differentiated writing activities that are engaging, interactive and developmentally and linguistically appropriate.

As a teacher for English Language Learners in grades K-6, I use many different materials in my writing instruction to support the students' writing development.

For example, my younger students use dry erase boards on a regular basis for writing practice. And for all my students, I use chart paper and sentence strips to create graphic organizers for reference in the classroom. Writing can be very challenging for many students, so creating a learning environment that targets students' strengths and areas of need is key to their success!
