This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Everything we do in our classroom is based on creating a community of learners. We are a Title I school with many different backgrounds. In our class this year my students are a mix of the ESL program, Special Education Program, and General Education. Each student enjoys learning and creating in their own way. Despite any challenges my students may face, my goal is to create a safe and meaningful learning environment where students are learning at their highest level.
I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can create an environment at school that will give them the confidence and motivation for academic achievement.
My Project
My students need hands-on materials to develop their word building skills. They need letter manipulatives to explore as they create words. These Word Letter Tiles will be used throughout the day to develop phonics and spelling skills. They will used these manipulatives during whole group, small group, and during individual assignments.
This project will create a love for learning as we build strong spellers and in and out of the classroom.
These materials will help our class develop new word skills as well as review ideas from the past. With this project, we will be able to see growth in all areas of the school day with your donation.
