My Students
C.P. Smith Artists have been growing and working on their amazing fine motor and craftsmanship skills and are ready to take things to the next level. Our art room does not have a class set of weaving and fiber arts supplies.
Having access to a rich collection of fiber art supplies and materials will invite even the most reluctant student to explore their fine motor skills. I am hopeful we can have an amazing fiber center that will excite and encourage our young artists!
My Project
CP Smith artists need support and guidance to develop fine motor skills. The potholder looms and loops will be a gateway project to enjoy weaving. Students will be able to use the potholder they make at home! The bright, colorful yarn and cardboard looms will help students learn learn life skills: tying, creating knots and loops through colorful weavings. My hope is that students will achieve confidence by creating a fun colorful and useable weaving project (potholder) which in turn, will inspire them to try more complicated weavings on the cardboard looms.
