Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in Los Angeles, and my students and their needs are as diverse as the city itself. Each of my students come to school each day ready to learn and challenge themselves with the rigorous tasks required of them in third grade. Although we work hard, we face some difficulties along the way with resources. I strongly believe that if these small but necessary resources are provided to our class, it will help improve not just our academic abilities but our behavior as well because we will be even more motivated. With the amount of things some of my students face outside school, my only hope is that they feel that my classroom is a safe space for them with everything they need in order to shine! If able to, please help us meet all our goals so that this year in third grade paves the way to a bright future!
My Project
My students are hardworking and eager to learn. Unfortunately, it feels like almost every day we struggle with having enough pencils for the students because they run down quickly. Not having this basic necessity does create a challenge in our classroom. I am hoping that with your help my students can have these writing tools to support their learning. These pencils and erasers will help my students worry about the task at hand and improving their writing skills versus not having anything to write with. Any contribution helps, and our third grade class thanks you for your generosity and support!
