Help me give my students in special education the basic practice tools they need to become the writers we know they can be.
Our school serves a student population that is 95% low-income, 98% minority, 62% English Language Learners, 9% Special Education students and 100% incredible. School enrollment has grown over time (and is now at full capacity) due to consistent improvement in school quality. We are now nearing almost 900 students.
Our school recently made the list of one of the top growing schools in our district!

My students are struggling writers with specific learning disabilities. In small group lessons my students will receive guidance and support in phonics, message planning, drafting, revising and editing their writing.
These new materials will provide my students with the necessary scaffolds to carefully craft their writing.
Students will be able to use the color-coated foam cubes to create meaningful and grammatically correct sentences. The cubes will also afford valuable oral language development opportunities. The magnetic dry erase boards will be used for phonics practice and first drafts. Finally, the journals will provide them with developmentally appropriate visual supports in order to produce successful writing at their level.
