I teach second graders in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma! My students are amazing, inquisitive and eager-to-learn. Although some may have difficult lives, my students come to school with smiles on their faces. They are supportive and cheer each other to success. Half of them go to Title I Reading, 30 minutes every day, for extra help.
My students are special because they have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes.
They are leaders who show love, compassion, kindness and bravery. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the active hands-on learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better environment for these students. We are truly a community!
My Project
This HP Chromebook will be providing my students access to our Reading Wonders program through ConnectEd. ConnectEd is the technology component that is part of our Wonders reading series. This Chromebook will allow my students to access all reading materials from the internet. Furthermore, my students can practice skills, read selections, and locate homework on it.
Students will gain confidence with the use of this Chromebook by having the ability to learn, through the power to practice and discovery of new information at their speed.
This Chromebook will allow my students to do this while becoming self-sufficient learners. This is critical for the technological future of our world.
As a teacher, I would also use the Chromebooks to differentiate language and math lessons. This Chromebook will be used daily in our classroom for instruction and practice and the need for them is critical.
