I have 48 amazing, eager, and caring students in the kindergarten classroom with my teaching partner. They come to school every day with an excitement for learning!
I teach at a Title I school which means that a majority of my students are considered high poverty and many are second language learners.
My school embraces innovative ways to personalize learning for all of our students. The STEM focused Wednesdays allow my learners to apply standards and skills they have been learning to solve real world issues.
Every Wednesday, my students are engaged at the highest level during our STEM-focused "Wonder Wednesdays". I am requesting Young Architects Design Blocks, Engineer-A- Coaster Activity Kits, and a Chain Reaction STEM kit to use at centers during our STEM days.
My goal is to create engaging, hands-on learning in my classroom.
Students will be able to use the design blocks to engineer different structures and complete STEM challenges. The roller coaster engineering is a fun way for students to practice the design process as well as work on their problem-solving skills. The STEM kits will be used to discover chain reactions. Students will build different obstacles and test different chain reactions.
These hands-on materials will be the perfect addition to our STEM-based Wonder Wednesdays!
