My Students

I am an interventionist who works with 8-10 students from grades K-4th for 30 minutes each who need challenging activities. We do a combination of literacy and math activities.

The groups of students that I work for are at the top of their class.

We work on variety of activities in the 30 minutes I work with them. Some of the activities we do include reading, writing, math.

An example of something I have been doing with my 4th grade group is blogging. They have really enjoyed writing and reading one another's posts.

My Project

I would like to do a book club with my students using the book Wonder written by Palacio. Rather than do this as a read aloud I would like to read it as a group. Our school doesn't have the money to buy 10 copies of the book at this time.

I think there are some great life lessons to be learned by reading this book.

Some of the topics I would like to cover during this particular book study would be bullying, special needs, including others, family and friendships. I hope to do a culminating activity with my students after reading the book.
