Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a high poverty school and love what I do! Many students in my school are responsible for walking themselves to school. A lot of students at my school also spend time taking care of their younger siblings. When they come into my classroom, I want them to feel loved and safe. They need to feel that someone is invested in their future and someone cares deeply about them. My students are so grateful for anything they are given and they deserve all we can give! Our school does an amazing job of giving the students great opportunities with technology, our goal is to open their minds with the world of technology because it provides them with opportunities they may not otherwise have.
My Project
Wobbly seats will be so much fun! These stability balls will be a great way for the students to experience the free movement that they will need while using our virtual reality headsets this year. I want the students to experience what it means to be immersed in a world different from the one they see every day. .
The ability to have freedom in their movement will allow them to have the feeling of total immersion while maintaining safety in the classroom of 25 students because they will all remain seated.
