My students attend a diverse elementary school in a close-knit, urban community. Most of my students attend various programs after school, including the community school program that we have in the building. They receive free breakfast, lunch, and a healthy snack every day. They are eager and excited to learn new things daily. We love to dance, sing, and explore every aspect of our learning with a hands-on approach.
My students thrive on positive feedback and believe that everyone has a gift to share with the world.
My Project
My firsties need a way to release their energy during small group instruction. We are always so excited to read a new book or solve a new problem that sometimes my scholars forget how to sit safely. I always give my students the choice to sit or stand, but they would greatly benefit from having the option to WOBBLE!
These stools will provide an outlet for their energy and allow them to focus on their task.
They will be motivated and will develop a better sense of balance by using these stools. These stools will help my students to wiggle in a way that is safe and developmentally appropriate for them.
