My students are from a small, rural town in West Virginia. Our elementary school strives to be a school of excellence, offering a welcoming and engaging learning environment for all students through meaningful lessons, hands-on activities, community involvement, and quality instruction. Most students at our school are from a low socioeconomic background. All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students' ability levels range from above average to below average, and everything in between. They are scientists, authors, readers, mathematicians, and explorers with a great desire to learn.
My Project
My fidgety, active learners could greatly benefit from having these stools as a seating option. Some students simply can’t sit still. To help these students maintain focus while learning, these special stools would allow them to gently rock and tilt in all directions. This movement forward, backward, or side-to-side helps create a calming effect for the student. All students would benefit from the added comfort of the stools, as well, which would be replacing the standard, hard chairs in the classroom. I also love that the stools are available in vibrant colors, which adds to the aesthetics of the classroom. Please help me help my students who need this type of stimulation and movement to maintain focus while learning.
