Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 24 highly active 3rd graders who come from different cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities! Many of my students are from low income families. My students love to work in groups, work in different areas of my classroom, and participate in classroom discussions!
My students and I work together every day to help them be successful.I have so much faith in them and what they will become when they grow up.
They truly have the potential to do amazing things with their lives.
My Project
Research has shown that kids who are able to move around and fidget while working, perform better in school. By having these materials in my classroom, students would be able to improve focus and the ability to retain information.
Obtaining the wobble stools, cushions, bouncy ball chairs, and kick bands will provide students the opportunity to move and fidget while completing their work.
Being able to move is crucial to students at this age. Moving helps to let their energy out while improving focus. Sitting at a desk all day isn't beneficial to children at this age. By giving students the opportunity to move throughout the day, they will be encouraged to focus and complete work.
