If you ask a student to describe our school they would tell you that it is home. Students from all different backgrounds come together to make a family here. We are a community of learners and hard workers that are determined to get the most out of each day.
Our students are excited about learning, unfortunately sometimes other factors diminish that spark for school.
Nearly 70% of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. With the challenges they fight outside of school, our goal is to make a safe and enriched learning environment for each student. Our school motto is, "penguin pride, growing strong." I want to make sure each of my little penguins grow as strong as possible to become productive members of society.
My Project
We are requesting five Wobble chairs in our classroom so that students will be able to get their wiggles out while learning at the same time. They will be utilizing the chairs throughout the year for individual students, small groups and independent work time. No matter the age, students still need to have movement be a part of their school day. Having these chairs will help student learn and focus to their full ability.
The gift of Wobble chairs is not just chairs, it is the gift of movement, focus and academic success.
There are so many studies out there about the importance of movement through out the day. This is directly tied to academic success. By giving to this project, you are supporting the whole learner and giving them a gift that will help them succeed for the rest of their lives.
