Our class is comprised of students from all different backgrounds. They all have one goal in mind: they want to grow as much as they can this year in all subjects!
We serve students in Special Education, ESOL, and RTI Tiers 2 to 3.
More than half of the students are from a low socioeconomic background. Typically, students shy away from school work, but not these students. They are eager to “dig” deeper every single day!
All of the "labels" placed on the students do not hinder them. The labels but make them strive harder each day to achieve more than they did the day before, especially when it comes to challenging areas. Our classroom is filled with students who are all striving to achieve success each school day.
My Project
Our students have a difficult time sitting in hard chairs all day. Flexible seating allows movement within lessons without the student having to leave their seats. We have tried other flexible seating such as metal stools and stability balls, but students often fall off of them or break them because the seat does not move when then move.
The wobble stools are perfect for movement while working since they will move with the students' movements (back and forth or turning around).
This type of movement is crucial for several students to maintain their focus during lessons. They also allow us to move into small groups without taking bulky chairs.
