I teach 3rd grade in a fast growing suburb of Salt lake City. We are a traditional school. Our students are from a wide variety of economic backgrounds. We have single family homes, town homes and apartments in our boundaries. It is a high density housing area in the fast growing city of Herriman.
My class is ready and eager to learn.
We have a very wide range in ability levels but all students are progressing and excited about school. We are off to a great start.
We have many services and programs in place to help the students be successful but specific resources for individual student needs/levels are sometimes hard to come by.
My students listen to books on CD's at the Listening Center. There are 4 chairs with headphones at a round table. This Daily 5 rotation is a favorite! Wobble chairs would give the students a fun place to sit and enjoy a good book being read to them while developing core strength and concentration.
I have a lot of students who like to fidget or move while they work, and regular chairs don't allow them to do that.
Wobble chairs allow them to move around while they learn. Flexible seating has been shown to help students focus and stay on task.
