I teach twenty-seven, adorably sweet first graders. Everyday we meet in small groups for reading and math. My kids love having my attention in a small group setting.
My active and energetic students become distracted by the uncomfortable chairs provided.
When we meet in small groups, I am able to provide more individualized teaching in order to meet all needs. However, many students, escpeically those with special needs, have difficulty focusing because they are distracted by the seating options provided.
The enthusiasm my students show for learning needs to be uninterrupted.
Everyday I meet with my students in small groups. When they come to our group, many students fidget or move while they work. Our classroom currently has stools that do not allow students to safely fidget or move.
Wobble chairs will allow my students to move around while they learn.
Allowing a little wiggle and wobble allows kids to move and adjust themselves in a non-disruptive way and to get the sensory input they need to focus on their lessons. They will also improve posture and muscle tone.
Having wobble chairs will allow my little ones to safely get their energy out while learning.
