Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom encompasses students from so many diverse backgrounds, many of which have a life more difficult than most of us can even imagine. Our school is a Title I school made up of mostly minority groups, 88% of our students come from a low income family. Regardless of their experiences outside of school, one word that describes this group of students is resilient.
These students have the drive, and the grit to be successful, and with your help, they will have the resources they need to get there.
We work hard every single day in our classroom, and we are grateful for any resources that we receive that we can put to great use. My students are working really hard to gain the math, reading, scientific, critical thinking, and technological skills that will prepare them for the future. We are beyond lucky to have people who care and support our classroom.

My Project
I have an active group of learners in my classroom, as of right now we have 1 wobble stool that we use on rotation. The wobble stool has proven to be a tool that works to engage students and keep them active while still being able to remain working at their desks.
Allowing students to move while they work not only increases learning, but also decreases behavior problems.
Studies have proven that flexible seating helps students focus and expend their energy in appropriate ways. These Wobble Chairs will allow my kids to move without creating distractions for the other students sitting around them.
