Wobble Wobble-Chairs That Allow Movement for Kids

Help me give my students snacks so that they aren't hungry and can focus on their work, books that have people like them in it, and chairs that wobble so that they can move while they work.

My Students

My students are creative, hard working and resilient. Working hands on and engaging with their peers to figure out solutions to challenges is an area where they absolutely thrive. They truly light up with excitement when they are understanding new concepts.

Unfortunately, these sweet kids have had to struggle through a lot in their short lives.

The pandemic has brought new challenges, including online learning. A lot of these kids do not have internet at home, and their parents have to work so many are left home alone. Sadly, situations like these has caused many gaps in their education. The goal this year has been to fill those gaps. We are really working on getting these students from an average of second grade reading level to reading on grade level.

Despite the challenges they have faced, these kids come to school with smiles on their faces and a willingness to learn. Their resilience and determination in the face of adversity is inspiring to me.

My Project

The supplies that I have requested will help students with their academic learning in the classroom. A lot of my students have struggled readjusting to the classroom after online learning during COVID-19, having different seating options will help students be more comfortable in the classroom. Students that need to move their body and cannot sit still during instruction will be given the opportunity to use wobble chairs. This will help them to be able to move their body while still staying seated and focused on instruction.

Our school is Title I, and a lot of families have struggled even more due to the pandemic.

I have students who come to school hungry, having snacks I can provide them will help them focus on learning and not on their hunger.

The items that I think will be especially amazing for these students are the books about Latinos. We recently learned about Martin Luther King Junior and they were asking about what Latinos have made a difference. I believe it will be inspiring for them learn about people like them who did great things.
