My students need Wobble stools to keep them focused and engaged during writer's workshop activities. My students also need organizers for their work and areas to display finished pieces.
Have you ever had to start over? Every four years? Our school is located on Air Force base housing with a 100% military population. My students have worldly experience through their deployments and military life experience. They are determined, responsible, and have empathy toward their peers. They have a variety of backgrounds and schema based on their military lives. This can, at times, hinder their progress in academics. However, our students are pushing through any obstacles that they face -- and will continue to do so!
My Project
For an average ten-year old, it is expected that they are to sit still and focus for longer periods of time as they end their elementary career - but they are still kids and need to release energy!
My students need Wobble chairs to help them release energy, yet stay focused during peer critiquing stations in writer's workshop.
Not every student learns in the same environment and these stools are a simple solution for active children. As they finish their revising and editing steps, they are proud of their work and want to put it on display! We are also in need of organizers to keep our writing workshop steps apart and a simple display area to promote finished pieces!
