We love to learn! These students can't wait to see what school and the world has in store for them and are so enthusiastic about learning! They are highly active and very energetic. These firsties love moving around and don't stay in one spot for too long. This is totally expected, after all, they are 6 and 7 year olds!
Our classroom is filled with 24 bright, beautiful, and blooming first graders who have a thirst for learning as much as they can each and every day.

In our room, it feels comfortable, looks bright, and has constant movement....just the way we like it! It is an environment that welcomes all children and they love being here! I love it, too!
My Project
I LOVE the idea of implementing flexible seating in my classroom! I want my students to be able to learn in an environment that is most comfortable for them. I plan on using these Wobble Chairs during my guided reading lessons and small group instruction. These are some of most important parts of the day because students are working very closely with the teacher and they need to be attentive. Therefore, I want this time to be as effective as possible. The Wobble Cushions can be used both at the students' desks and on the floor around the classroom during independent and group work.
Research shows that not only is flexible seating fun, but it helps students to stay focused, increases their sense of well-being, increases their balance, strengthens their posture and engages students in learning!
With both Wobble Chairs and Cushions, students will have the opportunity to wiggle while they are working, which will allow them to remain both attentive and on-task during the lesson. They are going to be thrilled to have these in our classroom!
