Mrs. Connelly from Fruitland Park FL is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need replacement balance balls and wobble cushions for our flexible seating classroom.

Our class is a community. We have leaders, caretakers, coaches, friends, learners, etc. We do not have desks in our classroom. We sit, lay or stand wherever learning is best for us. We do not do normal learning by society's standards. We have fun through learning. We are always engaged in a great activity that has to do with the lesson being presented. Learning through play and exciting activities throughout the day is our main goal.
Our class is a safe and happy place.
We learn through play and exciting activities in our lessons. We take time to listen and share our thoughts and knowledge amongst each other. The students at my school care about their education and are eager to learn. About 90% of the students are at or below the poverty line. But you wouldn't even know it when they walk into the classroom. These young minds come in ready for the day and always say, "I am ready to become smarter than my mom, dad, sister, and brother!"
My kids are a silly bunch with bright personalities and are always ready for any challenges that are presented to them throughout the day.
The donations to this project will allow me to continue to build areas in my classroom that will accommodate different learning styles. As we all know, students do not learn the same so why have them all sit the same? I want to provide different seating options for my students so they will be more comfortable and focused on their learning. This past school year was our first with the balance ball chairs in our class. The chairs were a hit, however several of the balls popped throughout the school year and we are currently down from 6 chairs to 2 chairs.
The replacement Balance Balls and Wobble Cushions I am requesting will allow my students who have difficulty sitting and/or concentrating while working to move.
The balls and cushions will allow them to "focus while they fidget". I have a class full of energetic kindergarteners, and the addition of these seats will continue to keep our Flexible Learning Environment a happy one.
