My students come from all areas of our district. We are a public school, where parents put their child on the waitlist at 4 years old to go through the school's lottery. We are a school of choice, where parent support and participation is strongly encouraged.
My students are very diverse and my goal is to meet their individual learning styles and needs.
My fourth grade students are extremely hard working! They are expected to work several hours each day at their seats. I would love to offer higher energy students with alternative, flexible seating options to help stay focused and on task.
My Project
Wobble chairs give students the freedom to wiggle and wobble while they complete classwork. I would love to offer my class the opportunity to access flexible seating. They also are fantastic for indoor rainy day physical education, to work on balance and strength.
Giving them the opportunity to move while working helps them stay focused and on task.
Students are full of energy and many have a difficult time sitting for extended periods of time during instruction.
Students also need alternative activities for indoor rainy physical education. The traditional physical education indoor games, such as head-up-7-up do not include balance activities and strength training.
I would love to give my students the choice to sit in a chair that allows them to wiggle while learning!
