My students need 5 wobble chairs to help us focus while learning.
I teach 22 unique learners in a public school just outside of Columbus, Ohio. We are a Title 1 school with a growing population of free and reduced lunch students. One of my favorite things about our school is the sense of community and small town feel. We are the only K-2 building in the entire district!
We are a very active group of firsties; always buzzing with energy and exercising our brains!
I love seeing those “lightbulb moments” when a student learns something new. As first graders we learn a lot about sitting criss-cross applesauce, walking quietly down the hall, and keeping our hands to ourselves. It is such an exciting year because students grow in maturity as well as academics.
I have a very active group of first graders. We are constantly up, down, and around the room as we learn.
These wobble chairs will allow our active learners to wobble while staying seated and learning.
The addition of wobble chairs allows my students to be kids and move and wiggle! It is natural and normal for 6 and 7 year old students to want to move and run and play. With the growing demands of academics there is not always time for that throughout the school day. Adding wobble chairs to our classroom would dramatically change the focus for my active firsties.
